Free Spanish Science Lessons to Support Multilingual Students

At almost every conference we shared our resources at, one question kept coming up: Is this available in Spanish? Enough teachers asked that we started building Spanish science lessons for multilingual learners, working with our Teacher Advisory Council to translate lessons already in the Switch Classroom library. We have six lessons currently live, each paired with its English version.

Why We Started Translating

Teachers consistently named the same gap. They had Spanish-speaking or multilingual students working through the same energy content as everyone else, but building a second set of lesson plans from scratch was overwhelming and time-consuming.

So we partnered with our teachers to make companion lessons instead of a whole separate curriculum. Each Spanish lesson links directly to its English match, so you always know exactly what you’re teaching and what your students are working through, in either language.

These lessons are free and fully editable, same as everything else in the library. You can easily adjust the wording, cut a section, or adjust the reading level… whatever your students need.

How Teachers Are Using These

While these lessons can serve as a substitute for their English versions, they also work well for scaffolding, sentence stems in Spanish, and materials to send home. No more translating resources yourself, and no more building two lesson plans when one will do.
