Summary
This lesson collection includes a teacher guide and student handout for a hands-on offshore wind engineering challenge. Student teams design and build a floating, moored platform for a model wind turbine, run four tests under simulated wind and wave conditions, then redesign and test again. Built around the engineering design process with real-world connections to how offshore wind systems are anchored in deep water. Best suited for grades 6-8 energy or engineering units; all materials are free and editable.
