Alberta Teachers’ Convention Resources

Summary

Everything featured at the Alberta Teachers’ Conventions, all in one place

Welcome, Alberta educators!

This collection was created for teachers attending the Calgary City Teachers’ Convention (February 12–13), Palliser District Teachers’ Convention (February 19–20), and Greater Edmonton Teachers’ Convention (February 26–27).

Switch Classroom resources were featured through partner booths, where educators explored free, curriculum-aligned lesson plans, classroom quick-start guides, and energy-focused teaching materials designed for Alberta classrooms.

This collection serves as your one-stop shop to revisit everything you interacted with at the convention and discover additional ready-to-use resources to support your science instruction.

Understanding Energy Transformations: This comprehensive lesson plan supports students from upper elementary through secondary school as they explore how energy changes form. Students trace the journey of energy from the sun and ancient stars to the electricity powering our homes. The lesson includes differentiated reading materials, student activity pages with challenge questions and a flow chart, and a visual slide deck to support instruction. It reinforces key concepts in an engaging and accessible way, making it a strong fit for science courses across grade levels.
