Data Literacy Lessons

Summary

Students learn to read, compare, and build graphs using real data, from school electricity use to wind speed and plant growth. Level 1 covers when to use a bar graph, a line graph, or a pie chart and how to read each one; Level 2 has students set up axes, choose scales and intervals, and create their own line and bar graphs. Each level includes a teacher guide with an answer key, a slide deck to project, and a student guide. Levels 1 and 2 fit upper elementary and middle school, and Levels 3-5, which extend the series for high school, are coming soon.
