Event Description:

Switch Classroom will present at STANYS’s 131st Annual Conference, hosted by the Science Teachers Association of New York State at the Oncenter and Downtown Marriott in Syracuse, New York, November 6–9.

Switch Classroom will present two sessions:

• Power Up! Build & Test Batteries With Electrolytes
  Session B-28 | Oncenter, Meeting Room 6
  Saturday, November 7, 11:00 AM–12:00 PM
  Participants build simple batteries and test electrolytes to determine how effectively they power an LED, analyzing patterns in charge flow and voltage. Adaptable for middle years and secondary science classrooms.

• Sources to Solutions: Teaching Energy Tradeoffs and Decisions
  Session E-31 | Oncenter, Meeting Rooms 9 & 10
  Sunday, November 8, 8:00–9:00 AM
  Participants move from an interactive gallery walk on energy source strengths and limitations to a collaborative scenario-based challenge, determining and justifying the best energy solutions for different communities. Designed for upper elementary through secondary science classrooms.

Switch Classroom will also have a booth in the exhibits hall — stop by to connect with our team and pick up free K–12 energy resources.

Both sessions leave participants with free classroom-ready resources. Sessions are open to registered STANYS conference attendees.
