Event Description

Switch Classroom will attend the NSTA National Conference on Science Education in Anaheim, California. Switch Classroom will exhibit at the conference and present multiple sessions focused on engaging, classroom-ready Earth and energy science instruction.

Throughout the conference, Switch Classroom will offer sessions that highlight practical strategies, hands-on investigations, and real-world connections for grades 4–12. Session topics include:

  • Small Stories, Big Science: Engaging Students with Real-World Earth Science
    Using short, real-world science stories to spark curiosity, discussion, and sensemaking in Earth science classrooms.

  • Fuel for Thought: Teaching Energy Tradeoffs and Transformations
    Exploring energy resources and transformations through hands-on activities and classroom-ready strategies.
    (2 sessions)
  • Zap! Squish! Light It Up! Play-Doh Circuits for Grades 4–12
    A hands-on introduction to electricity concepts using Play-Doh circuits and adaptable classroom investigations.

  • Catch the Breeze! Build & Test Windmills with Recycled Materials
    An engineering design challenge exploring wind energy and energy transformations using everyday materials.

  • APES Exam Toolkit: Strategies That Work
    Instructional strategies to support student success on AP Environmental Science multiple-choice and free-response questions.
    (2 sessions)
