KATS Kamp Conference 2026

Event Description:

Switch Classroom will present at KATS Kamp 2026, the Kansas Association of Teachers of Science’s annual conference, themed “Mission Orbit” this year. The event is hosted at Emporia State University in Emporia, Kansas, and brings K–12 science educators together for a full day of sessions from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM on Saturday, September 19.

Switch Classroom will present one conference session:

• Zap! Squish! Light It Up! Play-Doh Circuits for Grades 4–12

Using colorful Play-Doh, LEDs, and batteries, participants will explore Switch Classroom’s Intro to Electricity lesson and bring foundational circuit concepts to life, investigating conductivity, resistance, open and closed circuits, and series versus parallel designs. This adaptable lab works for elementary through high school classrooms.

Switch Classroom will also have a vendor table at the event — stop by to pick up free K–12 energy resources.

Conference sessions are open to registered KATS Kamp attendees.
