Event Description
Switch Classroom will participate in EOG Resources’ FUNomenal Spring Break Week at Discovery Green in Houston, Texas, a free, family-friendly S.T.E.A.M. celebration designed to keep young minds engaged while school is out. The four-day event features hands-on science, technology, engineering, arts, and math activities, along with interactive demonstrations and cultural performances.

Switch Classroom will host an interactive energy exploration station that invites students and families to discover how electricity works and how renewable energy can be engineered.

Visitors will engage with two connected Switch Classroom activities:

Play-Doh Electric Circuits Lab – Participants build and test simple electric circuits using conductive Play-Doh, LEDs, and batteries to explore how electricity flows, how circuits are completed, and how energy powers everyday devices.

Wind Energy Engineering Challenge – Participants design and build their own small windmills using recycled materials, testing blade shapes and designs to see how wind energy can be converted into mechanical motion through engineering problem-solving.

Together, these hands-on activities help participants understand key energy concepts, from how electricity flows in a circuit to how renewable energy sources like wind can generate power.
