CAST26 Conference

Event Description:

Switch Classroom will present at CAST26, the Conference for the Advancement of Science Teaching, hosted by the Science Teachers Association of Texas at the George R. Brown Convention Center and Marriott Marquis Hotel in Houston, Texas, November 12–14.

Switch Classroom will present two sessions:

• Catch the Breeze! Build & Test Windmills With Recycled Materials
  Participants design, build, and test mini wind turbines using everyday materials, exploring how wind becomes power, analyzing performance, and refining designs. Leave with a ready-to-use engineering challenge for your classroom.

• Sources to Solutions: Teaching Energy Tradeoffs and Decisions
  Participants move from an interactive gallery walk on energy source strengths and limitations to a collaborative scenario-based challenge, determining and justifying the best energy solutions for different communities. Designed for upper elementary through secondary science classrooms.

Both sessions leave participants with free classroom-ready resources. Sessions are open to registered CAST26 attendees.
