Summary
Eight computation problems walk students through real nuclear energy math: comparing coal and uranium fuel requirements for a U.S. household, calculating percent differences in energy density across fuel types, and applying half-life formulas to Carbon-14, Iodine-131, Cesium-137, and Uranium-238. A mix of open-ended calculation and multiple choice. Works well as a follow-up to the Science of Nuclear video or either reading in an APES or high school Earth science unit.
