Science of Coal – Extended Reading

Summary

This extended reading covers coal formation, extraction methods, types, industrial uses, and environmental impacts at a greater level of detail than the standard reading. A glossary and mixed-format assessment (multiple choice, true/false, and short answer) are built in. Best suited for upper high school Earth science, APES, or any course where students are expected to analyze trade-offs and engage with more technical content on fossil fuels.
