Science of Coal – Data Set

Summary

Students examine per capita CO2 emissions from coal across five countries from 1850 to 2023, using an Our World in Data chart and table to identify trends, compare national trajectories, and reason about economic and environmental trade-offs. Five open-ended questions build data literacy and analytical thinking skills. Works well in APES, high school Earth science, or any course covering energy history and global development.
