Summary

Students design a bioenergy plan for a fictional town using real biomass data, choosing from investigations involving cow manure biogas, restaurant grease biodiesel, or corn stalk ethanol. Guided questions walk groups through calculating energy output, evaluating trade-offs, and planning infrastructure and funding. Includes a visual diagram component and assessment rubric. Works as a project-based activity for a high school energy unit.
